UNDERSTAND WHAT I EXPERIENCED

In our first week at Hotel Pro Forma, we are asked to create an original piece of work in two days based on a sentence of a short film from the sixties directed by Jorgen Leth, a Danish filmmaker.
The sentence states: “Today, too, I experienced something I hope to understand in a few days”.
My idea was to express how difficult it sometimes is to unpick the subconscious marks in our mind from what we experience every day, using the metaphor of learning how to peel an apple.
For this project I filmed the three states separately in a cyclorama, then I roto blazed the hands and apples from the background in After Effects and finally mapped every state onto one of the doors with QLab.
