This dance piece portrays the traumatic story of the Choreographer Marie, who witnessed the worst earthquake in the history of Japan and which had its epicentre in her hometown, Kobe. The choreography narrates her journey of recovery from her post traumatic stress disorder.
This show was selected to form part of an online dance festival curated by the IJAD Dance Company this Autumn.
In the middle of the stage there is a cube made of silks which represents an emotional cage. We decided to use the front wall as a projection surface. The use of light depended very much on the location of the cameras and the video projections. Side and top lights from Source 4 Profiles became crucial to have control.
