Interaction Design for Video Art Installation by Javier Riera

This is a great ongoing collaboration with the Spanish video artist Javier Riera (javierriera.com) for one of his video art installations for gallery owner and arts curator Ana Serratosa (anaserratosa.com). This permanent installation will be based in a new building devoted to the arts in Valencia City.

The installation consists of two different projections of deers, which are triggered with the presence of the spectator through two different movement sensors. These sensors are placed strategically in the gallery to maximise their sensing range. These sensors send an analogue signal to an Arduino board also programmed by me which encapsulates the signal into an OSC message (scroll down to check the code).

The Arduino board´s kept in a custom case designed in Vectorworks and printed in PLA material in a 3D printer for the occasion. Then, the project is controlled in the node based software Isadora.
